LIVING HERE
Uintah County is home to one of the country's most unique, small communities.
With a population of less than 40,000, residents can enjoy the dream of living in a beautiful, rural setting while also having access to modern amenities found in larger cities.

Community
Welcome to our community. We are a small town that takes care of each other. We're in a growth phase and excited for the future.
Vernal City, our county seat, has an active Downtown Plan that will guide the future of nine blocks in Downtown Vernal.

Our aim is to diversify our economy, foster community pride, and build entrepreneurial spirit.
“When we first arrived and saw the size and beauty of this community’s library, shopping centers, and other buildings, we couldn't believe we were not in a city of 100,000-150,000 in population”

Western Park hosts numerous events; from PRCA Rodeos, performing arts, conventions, and home of the Vernal Oilers amateur hockey team and youth hockey leagues.
Higher Education
Higher education has had a strong presence in the area for many years, reflecting a statewide commitment to educating residents.
Uintah County believes in this vision and supports two higher education institutions. Although each entity has a distinct mission, both have found that cooperation and collaboration bring tremendous strength and growth.
Home to Dinosaur National Monument, 2 State Parks, and easy access to the Ashley National Forest, Uintah County supports policies that promote multiple uses on public lands; policies that will provide economic growth and stability as well as opportunities for agriculture and a variety of types of outdoor recreation.
